Who are we?
At MDAA Inc. we provide a range of advocacy services and projects for ALL people in NSW, who have a disability and their families and carers, with a particular focus on those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) / non-English speaking(NES) background with disability, and service providers in NSW.
Individual Advocacy Assists people to stand up for their rights, for example, when people have problems with housing, immigration, school, work and disability services.
Systemic Advocacy Works towards positive change in policies, procedures, practices and service delivery in government and non-government agencies.
Advocacy Development Offers community information days, training and information sessions for people from CALD/NESB with disability and their families and carers.
Industry Development Assists disability services across NSW to become more culturally competent and assists ethnic community services to understand and respond better to people with disability.
NDIS Appeals Support Assist people who want to appeal decisions by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and provides support for people to understand their rights under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
NDIS Support Coordination Provides support for NDIS participants to understand and implement their NDIS Plan. MDAA’s Support Coordinators provide person-centered and rights based approach to assist NDIS Participants to gain confidence and capacity to exercise genuine choice and control.
Training, Research & Consultancy We conduct cultural competence audits and provide advice on diversity management on a fee for service basis. We develop a range of resources and tools .
